It did try to snow on my City Highlights tour today – but we survived the cold & Easter Sunday.
This tour culminates at St. Peter’s Cornhill & the church is not open to the public, however today there was a lovely Chinese group singing & utilising the space. This resulted in us being able to take a peek inside! Incredibly exciting! I took a very swift couple of snaps, as I didn’t wish to be seen to be taking advantage of the situation.
I promise you, if you join this tour I will take you through a lovely selection of courts & alleys & their attendant hidden treasures & surprise tranquility & greenery.
The chancel screen is said to be the work of Sir Christopher Wren’s daughter. He rebuilt the church after the Great Fire of London. Sadly this is a not particularly successful ‘snap’ of the screen, however I am including it as it at least gives some idea of the piece.
