This Friday 25th January 2013 I will be taking a “Monuments to Murder” tour setting off at 2 pm from the City Information Centre (which is located just south of St. Paul’s Cathedral).
This is a tour that takes in several churches, a couple of monasteries, the site of a notorious prison referred to as the “prototype of hell”, sites of “resurrection” men’s activities, a lovely little park, some lovely little alleys & a fair!
The beauty of a snow-laden bush in the flats
A natural urban Xmas tree trying to blend-in with its cousins
But for now, with snow still on the ground & more predicted I will leave you with a couple more local snow scenes…
Pillar Box in snow
Snowing in Highbury
Well, sadly it has proved too cold for a guided walk around this fair City of ours in the last week & so I am sharing some local snow photos with you instead – call it a mini-virtual tour of Highbury! Just to fill-in until my tour of Smithfield on Friday 25th January meeting 2 pm at the City Information Centre.
Our starting point
An atmospheric church en route
I stood-in for a colleague today on the above tour. This is a whole week before I’m due to take this tour!
I had a perfectly lovely couple on the walk, who were having their first day & night away from their 8 month old baby & this was a privilege for me.
I look forward to many more lovely people joining me next Friday 11th January 2013 at 2pm at The City Information Centre (near St. Paul’s Cathedral) for the “Monuments to Murder” tour.
We will visit various areas & buildings in the Smithfield vicinity & discover their dark secrets! I hope you can join me.
Happy New Year everyone!
My first tour of 2013 will be on Friday 11th January at 2pm. This is yet another NEW tour from me! We meet at the City Information Centre.
The subject is Smithfield & its environs. Tour will last about 2 hours & finish near Barbican tube station.
I do hope you can join me!
