I hope everyone enjoyed a lovely relaxed & peaceful Xmas & Boxing Day!
Just to let you know that Sunday 11am meeting at City Information Centre is my “London’s Burning” tour. Come along & find out all about two destructive fires that transformed the City of London’s architecture.
Due to the Xmas holidays there will be NO tour THIS Friday! Therefore I look forward to a leisurely weekend tour with many of you on Sunday instead!
Don’t forget tomorrow‘s exciting ‘new’ tour – new from me anyway, which means it’ll be new to everyone!
Your last chance for a tour from me until after Xmas.
If I don’t see you tomorrow – let me wish you all an absolutely LOVELY Xmas Day & Boxing Day! Also New Year wishes to one & all!
The tour meets at the City Information Centre adjacent to St. Paul’s Cathedral (just south of it) at 11am Sunday 23rd December 2012.
Well folks, if the Mayans are right & Friday is the end of the world as we know it, you’ll definitely need to attend my tour as you won’t get another chance! Now, if they are wrong… well, this is definitely my last tour before Xmas & I’m sure you won’t want to miss a pre-Xmas limber-up around Fleet Street before the big day of family, tree & presents!
You may be aware that we get to see the “wedding cake” church, an amazing YMCA building (no, I’m not joking!) the site of one monastery & the remains of ANOTHER monastery! We will also talk about a serial murderer, an ex-parrot, a lexicographer, a beautiful Art Deco building & we mustn’t forget the King’s wardrobe! There’s also much MORE to discover!
We will be meeting at 1.30 pm out side the City Information Kiosk (adjacent to St. Paul’s cathedral on the south side)
You could always send me a message to say you’ll be coming along, there’s space at the bottom…
Tomorrow I shall be leading ‘Highlife – Lowlife’ Stories of Fleet Street. We meet outside the City Information Centre, which is the highly distinctive, one-storey, angular building just south of St. Paul’s Cathedral at 2 pm.
It is always fun to take a new tour & this one involves a lot of ‘twos’. 2 ” monasteries, 2 churches, 2 plaques,2 prisons, 2 printing Houses, 2 statues, 2 pubs a lot of lovely lanes & courts & scene of a serial killer!
Don’t miss it!
